Week 9 Term 2:

Well almost there. Another term nearing an end. It has been a very busy one and the boys deserve a good break. What I have been very impressed with is the positive attitude right to the end.
No prep this week as such just some work to finish off. The boys have speeches for Gill plus a bit of marking of work for me so they can get those merit points.

Prep: Speech and marking
No quiz this week. Last NZ quiz early next term
Reading: As much as possible

Week 8 Term 2:

Hope everyone had a great weekend? At least the weather played its part. 2 weeks to go before another term has flown by. The boys will have plenty of work to complete in the next 10 days so please can you support this at home. Congratulations to Cole on getting his First Honours last week  (first one in the school for 2018) and to Jonty for 3, yes 3 Full Colours. Huge achievement. I am encouraging the boys to keep checking the "badge book" to apply.

Week 5/6 Term 2:

Well already week 5. This week sees many of the boys off to Hamilton on Wednesday through to Friday. Only sport on this weekend is the 3rd XI Hockey on Friday night. All football and rugby have a break this weekend. NO SCHOOL MONDAY. In bold because a few of the boys did not believe me.

Prep this week/next week because of the short weeks:

NZ Quiz: NZ Literature. 20 Questions on 2 sheets. Completed by Friday 8 June
Word Lists may appear tomorrow
Treaty of Waitangi Sheets need to completed as I require. Boys are aware of the what I want to gain a presentation mark.

Exams went well last week and apart from a number of boys struggling with aspects by in large they did well. This comment is directly from me marking the Literacy exam. Very pleasing range of marks overall. Boys need to work on proof reading and completing sections where they know the work pretty thoroughly.

Week 3/4 Term 2:

Well this week has been another very busy one and what a great effort from all boys in the exchange v Huntley yesterday. The boys have been working well in class in preparation for the exams next week. Just a reminder of the timetable: Monday; Literacy, Tuesday; Science and  Wednesday; Maths. A bit more revision over the weekend would not go amiss.

There is chapel this Sunday at 5pm (choir to attend) and another one next Sunday at 7pm. Boys hoping to go to Hamilton must attend one of these two, as everyone attended our Wednesday service last week.

Can you (boys to do) please make sure shoes are clean for the start of each day as long as looking very clean and tidy in dress appearance.

Prep for next week will be continuation of revision Monday and Tuesday and then back into our quizzes in week 5.

Week 2 Term 2:

Week one all done and dusted already!!!! I have asked the boys to start their revision from this evening. This includes them coming up with a timetable for revision. Other homework such as the NZ quiz will continue this week but will take a break for weeks 3 and 4.
Open Day this Wednesday where all boys will be required to be involved one way or another for the 2 hours from 3 pm to 5 pm. A number of boys are staying for dinner and then on to chapel which should be finished by 6:30 approx. If you are picking up your son can you please be there by 6:30.
Well done to football players for last weekend. Hockey and rugby starts this week. I hope duck shooting went well for those who partake.
